A small, supportive workshop inviting you to slow down, connect with your senses and explore emotions through the experience of working with clay.
Grounded in Clay is a 90-minute sensory exploration workshop that invites you to slow down, reconnect with yourself and discover how working with clay can support emotional wellbeing.
Through touch, movement and creative exploration, you may:
Develop greater body awareness – Become more attuned to physical sensations and notice how your body responds to different textures, movements and pressure.
Experience grounding and calm – Explore how the tactile and rhythmic qualities of clay may help you feel more present, settled and connected to your surroundings.
Discover a sense of choice and control – Experiment with shaping, changing, and transforming clay to become more aware of your preferences, boundaries, and capacity to make choices.
Recognise personal patterns – Notice how you approach the creative process, whether through hesitation, control, spontaneity or experimentation, and reflect on what these responses might mean to you.
The workshop offers a gentle opportunity for self-awareness, emotional exploration and personal reflection, without pressure to create a finished piece or share anything you are not comfortable discussing.
No artistic experience is needed. The focus is on the experience of working with clay, rather than what you create.

Have you ever noticed that one part of you wants to move forward while another holds you back? Perhaps one part feels confident and independent, while another feels anxious, vulnerable or self-critical.
Inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and psychodynamic approaches, this workshop explores how different parts of ourselves develop ways of responding to our experiences, relationships, and emotional needs. Some parts may seek connection, while others protect us through withdrawal, control or self-criticism.
Through drawing, collage, clay and reflective exploration, participants are invited to recognise recurring emotional and behavioural patterns, become more aware of the needs underlying their responses, and explore how different aspects of themselves relate to one another.
The emphasis is on developing curiosity and compassion towards our inner experiences, rather than judging or trying to eliminate them. Greater awareness can create opportunities for understanding, acceptance and a more integrated sense of self.
This workshop offers a supportive space for creative self-exploration, with no expectation to disclose personal experiences or produce a finished artwork.
No artistic experience is necessary.
